How do I find Lower Micklin Touring Park?
We are located on the B5032 which runs from the village of Denstone to the village of Alton. We are situated about 1.5 miles from Denstone and 0.5 miles from Alton. This road may be shown as either Alton Road, Denstone or Denstone Lane, Alton.
The post code is ST14 5DJ. On most SatNavs this will take you to our neighbours property which is called Micklin Farm. We are about 100m east (closer to Denstone). Our drive has clear signage at the bottom with the name LOWER MICKLIN FARM. Please do not drive up if it does not say Lower Micklin Farm at the bottom of the drive.
Do you charge extra for electricity?
No. - Electricity is included in the pitch price.
Do you charge extra for awnings?
No. Awnings must fit within the pitch boundaries and there must be a minimum distance of 3m between the awning and any other unit.
Do you charge for children?
Children aged 5 - 16 years old are charged at £4 per night.
Children under 5 are free.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes. A maximum of two dogs will be allowed on any pitch. Dogs must be kept under control and on a lead at all times.

Dogs may be exercised on the perimeter walk but all fouling must be cleared up immediately.
Do you allow single sex groups?
Single sex groups will only be allowed if they telephone first to discuss the booking. Rules regarding anti-social behaviour and noise will be strictly enforced.

Do you have any extra pitches?
We have a small rally field adjacent to the main caravan park which can occasionally be used for tents. Please phone 07824 385138 to discuss.

Are gazebos allowed?
Yes. Gazebos must fit within the pitch boundaries and there must be a minimum distance of 3m between the gazebo and any other unit.
Is it possible to rent the whole caravan park for exclusive use?
Yes. As we are a relatively small caravan park with just 15 pitches we are able to offer Exclusive Use of the site. This enables you to book the site for your group and not have to worry about disturbing or being disturbed by other people. Certain conditions apply. Please click Exclusive Use for more details.
Are barbeques allowed?
Yes. All barbeques and cooking equipment must be raised off the grass. We can supply large disposable barbeques and stands to save you bringing your own. The barbeques cost £5 and a refundable deposit will be charged for the stand.Open fires are not permitted.
Do you have wi-fi?
No. Unfortunately we are in a rural location with very slow broadband speeds. However there is a very good 3G mobile broadband signal.
What time is check-in and check-out?
The earliest arrival time is 1.00pm and all pitches must be vacated by 12.00 noon on day of departure.
How do I get to Alton Towers?
The entrance to Alton Towers is just two miles by road. Driving is the simplest method. Alton Towers is just two miles and the journey will take approx. 10 minutes depending on traffic. You will have to pay £6 to park your car in Alton Towers and take the monorail from the car park to the main gate. Walking to Alton Towers by public footpath is possible but you will need to consult a map. Walking by road is not recommended.

There is a regular bus service 32A from the bottom of the drive to Alton Towers, Cheadle and Uttoxeter. For current timetable click Bus Timetable. Lower Micklin Farm is located between Alton, Smithy Bank and Denstone, The Tavern.
Taxi is a very good alternative option. QCS (01889 590 829) charge £8 for up to four people and £12 for up to eight people. Booking is essential.
Walking to Alton Towers by public footpath is possible but you will need to consult a map. Walking by road is not recommended.
What is there to do while the children are at Alton Towers?
The area is full of more sedate opportunities for people who do not wish to partake in Alton Towers. Footpaths lead from Lower Micklin in all directions allowing circular walks of varying distances and with plentiful tea rooms and pubs to break the journey. We are also only 10 miles from The Peak District and all it offers. Alternatively there are the market towns of Leek and Ashbourne or a day at the races in Uttoxeter. Yes. We have some day parking spaces for caravans and cars which must be booked in advance. There is a charge of £10 and all caravans must be relocated to the day parking area by 12 midday and be removed from the site by 8.00pm
