How do I get to Alton Towers?

The entrance to Alton Towers is just two miles by road. Driving is the simplest method. Alton Towers is just two miles and the journey will take approx. 10 minutes depending on traffic. You will have to pay £6 to park your car in Alton Towers and take the monorail from the car park to the main gate. Walking to Alton Towers by public footpath is possible but you will need to consult a map. Walking by road is not recommended.

What is there to do while the children are at Alton Towers?

The area is full of more sedate opportunities for people who do not wish to partake in Alton Towers. Footpaths lead from Lower Micklin in all directions allowing circular walks of varying distances and with plentiful tea rooms and pubs to break the journey. We are also only 10 miles from The Peak District and all it offers. Alternatively there are the market towns of Leek and Ashbourne or a day at the races in Uttoxeter. Please look at our Days Out page for more ideas.

Overall, a great site, very very clean, very quiet, exactly what we hoped caravanning would be like, would definitely recommend it. Just hope future sites are of the same standard because the bar has now been set.

The new purpose-built toilet/shower block is very very nice - possibly one of the best showers I've had on a campsite - and I like to stay on 5 star sites normally. Very new, very clean.

The site is very quiet & peaceful with a play area for children and a good sized, mowed field where a ball can be kicked around. We really enjoyed our stay at this well thought out, family run campsite and would recommend it to other users visiting the area.
